Last year (really the last 6 months) I finally made the transition from VB.Net to C#. I'm really loving C# and I hope I never have to go back.
That transition really got the juices flowing, so now I'm looking for a another new language to pick-up. I experimented with Ruby on Rails a few years back and I liked it, but didn't really get any traction with it as far as real world projects. I recently got an inquiry from a potential client about a Ruby on Rails project (ROR???), so I think I will hop on that trail once again.
Hit me up on the Twitter (@teqknowledgy) if'n you have any better ideas.
Update: 1/9/2012
The candidates seem to be:
- Ruby on Rails
- PHP
- Java
- ASP.Net MVC
I would say that I have a "foothold" understanding of all of these, but the last seems to be a logical progression for me, being that I am basically a Microsoft developer. However, I've read that the transition to MVC from a traditional ASP.Net web forms background is not as easy as it would appear on the surface.
Hmmm. Maybe I can tackle more than one...
I would love to get some feedback, but that's going to be rather difficult considering I have never gotten around to implementing a comment system on this site. ;)
